My Take

Roberto Orci was a craftsman who shaped some of the biggest blockbusters of his generation, and his work deserves real recognition. Born in Mexico City in 1973 and educated at the University of Texas at Austin, he and partner Alex Kurtzman wrote tentpoles like Transformers, the rebooted Star Trek, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. What I admire is the discipline of the screenwriter's role, building the architecture that lets actors and effects shine while staying mostly out of the limelight. His death in 2025 was a genuine loss. I want to give proper credit to the storytellers working behind the spectacle.
