My Take
Salim Khan is impossible to skip when talking about Indian cinema. As one half of the legendary Salim-Javed writing duo with Javed Akhtar, he authored the screenplays behind a wave of defining Bollywood films. What I respect most is that he changed history from behind the page rather than in front of the camera, helping make screenwriters into names audiences actually knew. That, plus being patriarch to the Khan acting dynasty, makes him a quiet architect of an entire film culture. I find the writer's influence far more compelling than any star turn.
