My Take
Sandi Toksvig is one of those rare polymaths who make versatility look effortless. Danish-born and British-made, she has been a comedian, broadcaster, author and even a politician, and her hosting of QI and The Great British Bake Off shows a wit that is sharp without ever being cruel. I admire how she pairs quick intelligence with real warmth, and how she has used her platform with conviction, coming out in 1994 and co-founding the Women's Equality Party. The 2014 OBE feels well earned. To me she embodies a kind of grown-up courage: funny, kind and unafraid to speak her mind.
