My Take
Sandra Brown is the kind of working writer I deeply admire. From Waco, Texas, she has moved fluidly between steamy romance and taut suspense, even maintaining separate pen names like Rachel Ryan and Erin St. Claire to wear different hats. That range is not luck; it is the product of relentless output and ironclad discipline. Bestseller status is earned page by page, deadline by deadline, and she has been doing it for decades. Still writing well into her seventies, she clearly writes because she must. I respect careers built on steady, stubborn craft, and hers is a textbook example of one.
