My Take

What I admire most about Savannah Guthrie is the way her legal mind anchors her broadcasting. Morning television rewards warmth, but warmth without rigor curdles into fluff; Guthrie brings both. Watch her press a powerful guest and you can see the Georgetown-trained lawyer building a cross-examination in real time, all while keeping the tone of a friendly chat.
