My Take
Seigo Nakayama is one of those guys who makes you stop and think about the quiet grind behind a pro baseball career. Born in 1999 in Utsunomiya — yeah, the city famous for gyoza — he came up through Seirantaito High School and then Hakuoh University before making it to the pros, which is a pretty deliberate, no-shortcuts path. He stands 190 cm, went to the Seibu Lions as a sixth-round pick in 2021, and got into exactly one first-team game in 2022 before being released and moving into a front-office job with the club. I kind of respect that; not every grind ends in stardom, and staying with the team that gave you your shot says something about the person.
