My Take
Seka, the self-styled "Platinum Princess of Porn," earns my respect less for the era she defined than for how she refused to be merely consumed by it. From Radford, Virginia, she moved from modeling into directing and, in 2013, reclaimed her own story with an autobiography. In an industry that chews people up, she carved her name into the AVN Hall of Fame and outlasted the moment. What interests me is the grit beneath the glamour, the sense of a woman authoring her own narrative on her own terms. That kind of durability, I think, deserves to be taken seriously.
