Shannon Kane

What I admire about Shannon Kane is the quiet grind behind the glamour. Coming out of Kalamazoo, Michigan, she paid her dues in the brutal daytime trenches of All My Children before sliding into the seductive witchcraft of The Originals. That range, from earnest soap heroine to supernatural temptress, tells me she is a craftsperson rather than just a face, even with the modeling pedigree. I tend to root for actors who build careers brick by brick rather than overnight, and Kane strikes me as exactly that kind of steady, underrated presence worth keeping an eye on.
