Shigeyuki Totsugi

Shigeyuki Totsugi came out of a university theatre circle in Sapporo and is now on national television, which is a longer road than it sounds. He belongs to TEAM NACS, and within that group he is the hardest member to summarise: not the loudest presence, but the one who quietly becomes someone else the moment a scene starts. He also writes scripts, does voice work, and sings, a range that usually gets a performer written off as a generalist. Somehow it never reads that way with him. I like that he built this from a regional stage company rather than the standard Tokyo pipeline, and that nothing about the result feels manufactured.
