Siân Lloyd

Siân Lloyd's record fascinates me more than any flashier celebrity story. Twenty-four years as the UK's longest-serving female weather forecaster is an achievement of sheer, patient consistency, the hardest kind to pull off on television. A first-class degree from Cardiff and a year of postgraduate study at Oxford behind a Welsh weather presenter also quietly undercut any assumption that the job is lightweight. Showing up day after day, earning trust one forecast at a time, you become woven into a nation's daily routine almost without anyone noticing. I admire that endurance enormously; it is a masterclass in the value of simply staying the course.
