Stephen McFeely

Stephen McFeely is the kind of behind-the-scenes craftsman I instinctively root for. A screenwriter who has also worked as an actor and producer, he embodies a versatility that I find quietly admirable. With his writing partner Christopher Markus he wrote the Narnia films, the three Captain America films and Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, making the pair the most successful screenwriters of all time at the U.S. box office, yet writers build the skeleton of a story while others take the spotlight. I am more drawn to the people who architect a world than to those who merely inhabit it. There is real dignity in that unseen labor, and I respect anyone who keeps shaping narratives without needing the credit to be loud.
