My Take

What lingers with me about tWitch is how he treated joy as something to spend rather than hoard. He danced his way from Montgomery, Alabama onto a national stage and then into millions of living rooms, and the wattage of that smile never seemed to dim. His death in 2022 at forty still feels impossible to square with the warmth he radiated, and it quietly reminds me that being visible is not the same as being seen. I would rather hold onto the choreography than the tragedy. His real gift was making generosity look effortless, which is the hardest performance of all.
