My Take
Honestly, Takahiro Fujioka is the kind of player I find myself quietly rooting for — not the guy who ends up on the highlight reel every night, but the one who clearly put in the unglamorous work. Growing up in Shibukawa, Gunma, which is this tucked-away hot spring town in the mountains, then earning his way to Toyo University, there's a story of steady, deliberate grind there. A first-round pick of the Chiba Lotte Marines, he went on to pitch for Nippon-Ham and the Giants, and not every athlete needs a PR machine. He played ball, did the reps, let the game speak. That kind of low-noise dedication is genuinely underrated.
