Takefusa Kubo

Takefusa Kubo carries the weight of an entire nation's hopes, and I find his composure under that pressure remarkable. Nurtured in Barcelona's youth system and tagged the "Japanese Messi," he could have buckled, yet he has carved out a genuine role on the wing for Real Sociedad in La Liga. At 173 cm he wins not with size but with close control, vision and fearless dribbling, which is exactly the kind of football I love to watch. Born in 2001, he still has years of growth ahead, and I am eager to see how far his talent takes Japan.
