My Take

Tomko is the sort of hard-nosed big man I genuinely enjoy in pro wrestling. A 196 cm giant out of Jacksonville, he ran through WWE as Tyson Tomko, then made the bold move to New Japan Pro-Wrestling under his real name, before headlining as the mononymous Tomko in TNA. What earns my respect is that crossing into the Japanese scene, where the style and crowd are utterly different, takes real adaptability for an American powerhouse. He built a name on both sides of the Pacific on the strength of his physicality. Retired now, he strikes me as a true journeyman craftsman worth applauding.
