Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Vidhu Vinod Chopra interests me because his films feel rooted in where he came from, Srinagar in Kashmir. While Bollywood is often caricatured as song and spectacle, his work, from the crime drama Parinda to the recent 12th Fail, leans into social weight and moral texture. Winning Filmfare honors across directing, screenplay, and story tells me he is a genuine all-rounder, not just a stylist. What I respect is his willingness to make quieter, character-driven films that still move audiences. That craftsman's discipline, holding to a personal vision while working largely behind the camera, is exactly the kind of filmmaking I value.
