My Take
Vinnie Vincent fascinates me precisely because his Kiss tenure was brief. Joining in 1982 as the band unwound its famous makeup era, he occupied one of rock history's most awkward and pivotal seams, and short-lived members like him often loom larger in fan memory than their tenure suggests. Born Vincent Cusano in Bridgeport, he was a genuine songwriter, not just a hired hand, and I suspect his contributions are underrated by casual listeners. There is something poignant about a guitarist who burned bright, exited fast, and then largely vanished from the spotlight. The records keep playing long after the player steps away.
