My Take
Waheeda Rehman is, plainly, a living legend of Indian cinema. Born in Tamil Nadu in 1938, she helped define the golden age of Hindi film through classics like Pyaasa and Guide, building a career of more than 90 films across five decades. The honours speak for themselves: a National Film Award, the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, and in 2023 the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest film honour. Few performers anywhere accumulate that kind of legacy. My take is simple admiration, this is an artist whose work shaped an entire industry and deserves to be revisited by every new generation.
