My Take

I have such a soft spot for Aaron Carter, because for a certain slice of kids in the early 2000s he WAS the soundtrack. "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" and "I Want Candy" were pure bubblegum sugar rush, and the fact that he was Nick's little brother riding alongside the Backstreet Boys wave just made it feel like the whole pop universe was one big family. Looking back, what gets me is how young he was carrying all of it, performing since age seven and basically growing up in front of us. There's real bittersweetness there. He never fully escaped that teen-idol bubble, but those songs are frozen in amber, and I still grin every time one sneaks onto a nostalgia playlist. Genuinely fond memories.
