My Take
Alison Brie is my favorite kind of actor, the one people underrate because she makes everything look easy. Playing Trudy in Mad Men and Annie in Community at the same time, two tonal universes apart, should be taught as a masterclass in range. Then GLOW asked her to carry a series and learn real wrestling, and she did both. The CalArts training shows in her discipline, the voice work in her versatility. I appreciate that she has built a career on craft rather than celebrity, picking ensembles and odd, risky projects over safe stardom. Hollywood-born, yet nothing about her path feels entitled. I will watch whatever she does next.
