Amber Lynn

Amber Lynn, born Laura Lynn Allen in Newport Beach, is one of the genuine icons of 1980s adult film, and the awards bear that out: AVN and XRCO Hall of Fame inductions plus a run of XRCO wins across the mid-to-late eighties. What interests me more than the resume is the breadth of what she became afterward, working as a radio host, mainstream actress, dancer and humanitarian advocate. That second act is the part people forget. She belongs to a generation that turned an adult-film career into lasting name recognition, and the range of work she took on afterward says a lot about her staying power.
