Austin Reaves is genuinely one of my favorite stories in recent NBA history — a kid from Newark, Arkansas who nobody at the top programs wanted, bouncing from Wichita State to Oklahoma, going undrafted, and somehow ending up not just sticking with the Los Angeles Lakers but becoming a legitimate fan favorite and key rotation piece on a contender. I love that about basketball: sometimes the guy everybody overlooked turns out to have the most heart on the floor. Reaves plays with this fearless, almost reckless confidence that you'd expect from a first-round pick, not a guy who had to fight for every minute. He's got a knack for big moments, a smooth mid-range game, and zero impostor syndrome. Still just in his mid-twenties as of 2024, I think we've barely seen the ceiling on this guy.
