My Take
Benito Skinner, better known as Benny Drama, represents a genuinely modern path to comedy stardom. Raised in Boise, Idaho, he built his name not through television gatekeepers but through impressions, sketches and original characters on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. That self-made arc impresses me, because it required him to be writer, performer and producer all at once. By 2025 he had created and starred in Overcompensating for Amazon Prime Video, proving he could graduate from viral clips to scripted, long-form work. I see him as evidence that the old hierarchy of fame is dissolving, and that a kid from Boise can build an empire on talent and timing alone.
