My Take
I have such a soft spot for Burt Reynolds, the closest thing the '70s had to a movie star you'd actually want to share a beer with. That mustache, that easy grin, that "I know exactly how charming I am" twinkle, the man basically invented a whole vibe. I love that he could go dead serious in Deliverance, then turn around and make Smokey and the Bandit feel like the best road trip you never took. And honestly, his Boogie Nights comeback floored me, proof there was always a real actor under all that swagger. He didn't always pick the smartest scripts, but he never once looked like he wasn't having a blast, and that warmth is exactly why I still grin whenever he shows up onscreen.
