Cade Cunningham

Cade Cunningham is exactly the kind of generational talent that makes you feel like the NBA's future is in good hands. Born in 2001 in Arlington, Texas — yeah, 2001 — he went from Bowie High School to Montverde Academy to Oklahoma State, where he immediately made everyone take notice, winning Big 12 Player of the Year and USBWA Freshman of the Year in a single season. The Detroit Pistons grabbed him with the first overall pick in the 2021 draft, and honestly, it was hard to argue. He's got that rare combo of size, IQ, and playmaking that doesn't come around often at point guard. Detroit has been rebuilding for what feels like forever, but watching Cunningham develop into a legit franchise cornerstone makes that rebuild feel genuinely exciting rather than just hopeful noise.
