Candis Cayne was born in Maui, Hawaii, United States on August 29, 1971. Public records list Candis Cayne as a choreographer, television actor and film actor. That works out to 55 years old in 2026. Schooling on record includes Henry Perrine Baldwin High School.
My Take
Candis Cayne strikes me as genuinely courageous, not just talented. A Maui native who performed in New York drag clubs through the 1990s and came out as transgender in 1996, she broke real ground when she played Carmelita on prime-time ABC's Dirty Sexy Money in 2007. That kind of visibility on network television mattered enormously. Beyond acting she is a choreographer, model and performance artist, which speaks to a restless creative drive I admire. What moves me most is that her career was never only about beauty; it was about stepping forward and holding the door open for others to follow.
