Cas Anvar

Cas Anvar will always be Alex Kamal from The Expanse to me, and that says something about the warmth he brought to a supporting role. Born in Regina to Iranian parents and raised in Montreal, he is the rare actor who also writes and does voice work, which usually signals a deep, versatile craftsman. Pilots and sidekicks rarely get credit, but the emotional temperature of an ensemble often rests on actors like him. I value that kind of dependable, behind-the-scenes professionalism over surface glamour, and I think performers of his stripe deserve far more recognition than they typically receive.
