Yutaka Kyan

I have a soft spot for performers who fully commit to the bit, and Yutaka Kyan is exactly that guy. As the "guitarist" in an air band, he isn't even technically playing a note, yet his razor-sharp moves and theatrical mugging somehow make you feel like the room is genuinely rocking, which is a weirdly impressive trick to pull off night after night. He'll cheerfully take on goofy variety-show dares, then turn around and do real work in dramas and films. That mix of loud showmanship and quiet, craftsman-like effort is the thing that makes me root for him. He makes me laugh and earns a little respect too.
