My Take
Okay, Momoka Ariyasu is one of those people who makes you do a double take, because how does a voice that big live inside a 149cm frame? I always think of her as the powerhouse pipes of her idol days, the one who'd be drenched in sweat dancing full-out and then casually nail a note that pinned you to your seat. Kyoto kid, came up through the child-actor grind, so the work ethic was baked in early. When she stepped away from the spotlight I felt the quiet, but watching her come back as a singer-songwriter writing her own words, even picking up a camera, just made sense to me. She never oversells or stretches past her size, she just stands there and sings straight from the gut. That unfussy, rooted strength is exactly what I love about her.
