My Take
Okay, first things first: when I hear "Ōtani" my brain jumps to the baseball guy, but Emiri is her own kind of two-way player, and honestly I'm here for it. She sings and dances in the voice-actor idol group =LOVE, and has a knack for the producing side too, with her own apparel and contact-lens brands, which tells me she's the type who actually thinks about how the whole thing fits together, not just her spotlight. What gets me is how disarmingly warm she comes across with fans, like the wall between stage and seat just isn't that thick with her. I get the feeling that bright, easy smile is propped up by a lot of quiet, unglamorous grind nobody films. I don't need a list of awards to root for someone like that. Grow at your own pace, in your own color, please.
