My Take

What draws me to Chang Kang-myoung is the journalist-turned-novelist pedigree. A Yonsei-educated reporter who pivots into science fiction carries something most genre writers lack: a trained eye for how real institutions actually fail people. I suspect his speculative worlds feel uncomfortably plausible precisely because he spent years documenting the real one.
