Chuck Mosley

Chuck Mosley leaves me with a real sense of loss. As Faith No More's original vocalist, the Hollywood-born singer helped forge their early fusion of funk, punk, and rap-rock across We Care a Lot and Introduce Yourself before departing in 1988, just ahead of the band's breakthrough. He died in 2017, and history too often credits those who arrive after the foundation is laid. I prefer to honor the person who planted the seeds. Mosley's run was short, but the imprint he left on a genre-bending sound is undeniable, and that pioneering spirit is what I choose to remember.
