Clive Standen

Clive Standen strikes me as an actor with genuine physical conviction. Born in Holywood, County Down, he brought a feral intensity to Rollo in Vikings, carried Bryan Mills in Taken, and swung swords through Robin Hood and Camelot, all backed by real Muay Thai training. That grounding is why his fights read as believable rather than choreographed. What I respect is the range underneath the brawn, from stage to film to television to video game voice work, while the rough edge never gets sanded away. I tend to gravitate toward performers who look like they could actually throw a punch, and Standen sells it.
