My Take
What impresses me about Dallas Liu is how cleanly he made the jump from child actor, playing young Jin Kazama in Tekken, to carrying a role as demanding as Prince Zuko in Netflix's live-action Avatar. Zuko is all simmering rage and wounded pride, the kind of part that exposes thin actors instantly. The fact that Liu also handled comic timing in PEN15 tells me he has range most young performers lack. Born in 2001 in Los Angeles, he feels like someone quietly building toward becoming a genuine leading face for Asian American actors. I am watching him with real interest.
