My Take

David Eigenberg will always be Steve Brady to me, the warm, slightly hapless bartender who gave Sex and the City some of its most human moments. There's an unpolished decency to his presence that makes him perfect for ordinary working men, which is why his long run as a firefighter on Chicago Fire feels so natural. What I appreciate is that he's never traded on glamour; the Manhasset-born, Iowa-trained actor builds characters you'd actually want as neighbors. His return in And Just Like That confirmed it for me. He's the kind of grounded, likable performer who quietly makes an ensemble feel real.
