David Holt

David Holt strikes me as a quietly significant figure in American local politics. A George Washington University trained attorney, he moved from the Oklahoma Senate to the mayor's office in 2018, but the detail that stays with me is that he is Oklahoma City's first Native American mayor, with Osage heritage. Carrying that history into the top job of a major city is no small thing. His later role leading the United States Conference of Mayors suggests a consensus builder who governs through dialogue rather than spectacle, and I find that style genuinely refreshing in this era of noise.
