Eric Marienthal

Eric Marienthal is the kind of saxophonist I'd hand to anyone who claims they don't like jazz. The Berklee training shows in how clean he plays, but it's the smooth-jazz and fusion warmth that pulls people in, not the technique. A Sacramento kid turned LA session staple, he's spent decades as one of those names that quietly anchors records. I respect players who chase tone and groove over flash, and that's the lane he owns. The Grammy nod feels right. He's underrated outside jazz circles, which honestly suits the music perfectly.
