Faye Dunaway is one of those actresses who feels like she walked straight out of a movie poster and into your nightmares, in the best way. I love how fearless she is on screen, all those razor cheekbones and that cool, dangerous intelligence she brought to Bonnie and Clyde, Chinatown, and especially Network, where she won her Oscar playing a TV executive so ruthless she's basically iconic. She had a reputation for being demanding, sure, but honestly that intensity is exactly why her performances crackle. Mommie Dearest went so over the top it became camp legend, and even that I can't help but adore. To me she's pure old-Hollywood glamour with teeth, an actress who never just played it safe. A genuine 1970s force, and I'll watch her in anything.
