My Take

Garrett Gerloff is the kind of young racer I instinctively pull for. Born in Spring, Texas in 1995, he went two-for-two as MotoAmerica Supersport champion in 2016 and 2017, then jumped into the World Superbike Championship from 2020. American riders crossing over to the European-dominated top tier face a brutal climb, and I admire the ambition it takes to leave a comfortable domestic throne for that fight. There's real romance in a Texas kid hauling his bike across an ocean to test himself against the world's best. I hope his Leo stubbornness carries him to the podiums his talent keeps reaching for.
