Goshi Hosono

Goshi Hosono has sat in the Diet since his first election in 2000 — a law graduate of Kyoto University who went to high school in Shiga. He was born in Ayabe, Kyoto, and raised in Ōmihachiman, Shiga, and in 2006 he was reported to be having an affair with the newscaster Mona Yamamoto. What I cannot forget is 2011. While the Fukushima nuclear accident was still unfolding, he took the portfolio nobody could hold without being blamed, at the hour the fire was highest. His party banner has changed more than once since, and critics read that as opportunism. I would note that the banners themselves were disintegrating throughout those years. He is still in office, so I am comfortable letting the verdict wait a while longer.
