My Take

Every time I hear the name Grace Gummer, my first thought is "yeah, Meryl Streep's daughter" — and I imagine Grace has spent her entire career quietly refusing to let that be the whole story. She went to Vassar, earned a Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut in the 2011 revival of Arcadia, and then built out a real television resume across The Newsroom, American Horror Story: Freak Show, Extant, and Mr. Robot — shows that are genuinely good, not vanity projects. What I respect is that she's doing the work: stage, film, television, no obvious shortcuts. The shadow of having the greatest living actress as your mom would crush most people, but Grace seems to treat it like fuel rather than a ceiling, and honestly that stubbornness reads right on screen.
