Hal Ozsan

What draws me to Hal Ozsan is his refusal to be one thing. A Turkish Cypriot from Famagusta who broke through on Dawson's Creek, he has since become one of those reliable character actors who slips into Jessica Jones, The Blacklist and Graceland and quietly owns his scenes. But the detail I keep returning to is that he writes and makes music too. There is something compelling about a performer who is also a storyteller and songwriter, someone equally at home in front of the camera and behind the page. I suspect his layered cultural roots feed that restless, hard-to-pin-down depth.
