My Take
Okay, the first thing you have to understand about Hiromi Miyake is that she's 146 cm tall — we're talking five feet nothing — and she spent her career hoisting barbells loaded with well over twice her bodyweight clean over her head. That image alone should stop you in your tracks. She came up through Hosei University, put in the unglamorous years of grinding repetition that nobody films, and then went on to collect Olympic medals — London, Rio — on the biggest stage in the sport. There's something almost philosophically funny and deeply inspiring about the smallest person in the room being the one who refuses to put the weight down. Every lift she made felt like a personal argument against the idea that size determines limits. I'm genuinely a fan.
