Ilona Staller

Staller fascinates me precisely because she crossed lines almost no one else dared to. Born in Budapest, she became Cicciolina, one of the most famous adult performers of her era, and then did the unthinkable by winning a seat in the Italian parliament. That leap from spectacle to statecraft is wild, and whatever you think of the politics, the sheer audacity is undeniable. She sang, modeled, provoked, and refused every box people tried to put her in. I see her less as a scandal and more as a study in self-invention, someone who weaponized her own image and made the establishment flinch.
