My Take
James Tynion IV genuinely impresses me. A New York comics writer who handled Batman for DC, he swept the Eisner Award for Best Writer for several consecutive years and still found energy to win with his own creator-owned books. Pulling double duty, polishing someone else's flagship hero while also reaching the summit on original stories, takes uncommon stamina and conviction. By 2024 he was being honored at Angoulême too, so his reach now ignores borders entirely. To me he is proof that comics deserve to be treated as serious literature, and that a writer who truly believes in storytelling can carry both legacy characters and his own dreams at once.
