Jerry Bruckheimer

Jerry Bruckheimer is, to me, the patron saint of unapologetic popcorn cinema. The Detroit-born producer came up through advertising before partnering with Don Simpson to define the high-octane action blockbuster, and he never pretended to chase prestige over pleasure. I admire that clarity of purpose: his films exist to thrill, and they do. With multiple Emmys and a Walk of Fame star, he proved spectacle and commercial success aren't contradictions. Still working past eighty, he embodies a relentless showman's discipline. Whatever critics say about his bombast, I'd argue few people have entertained more global audiences more reliably.
