My Take

I have a soft spot for Jon Hurwitz because his career proves smart people make the best dumb comedy. A University of Chicago grad who launched with the gleefully ridiculous Harold & Kumar films, he later pulled off something genuinely tricky with Cobra Kai: reviving an old franchise without cheapening it into mere nostalgia. What I admire most is the longevity of his partnership with Hayden Schlossberg. Sustaining a creative collaboration across decades is harder than any single hit, and the fact that they keep building together tells me there is real craft and trust underneath the jokes.
