Jorge Campos

Jorge Campos is one of those players who made you do a double-take every single time — partly because of those insane neon kits he designed himself, and partly because he'd suddenly sprint 40 yards out of goal like he owned the whole pitch. Standing at 168 cm, he was undersized for a goalkeeper by any conventional measure, but what he lacked in height he made up for in sheer audacity. His sweeper-keeper instincts were decades ahead of the mainstream, and watching him play for Mexico in the 1994 and 1998 World Cups felt like watching someone freestyle in a sport that hadn't caught up to him yet. He also moonlighted as a striker at club level, which is just peak Campos energy. A genuine one-of-a-kind character in football history.
