My Take

José Carvallo earns my respect as a goalkeeper, the loneliest job on the pitch. A 180cm Peruvian keeper out of Lima, he spent his career in the position where a single error is magnified into a headline, yet he kept the gloves for years. I admire that temperament; goalkeeping rewards calm, judgement and nerve far more than glory. He didn't thrill crowds by scoring, he protected wins by refusing to concede.
