Keito Nakamura

Keito Nakamura is the kind of player I quietly root for. Coming out of Abiko in Chiba, he chose the harder road abroad, sharpening his game in France with Reims before moving to Lyon, and forcing his way into the Japan national team as a left winger or forward. That cut-inside-and-strike profile is exactly the sort of incisive, self-made attacking threat that excites me. Still young, born in 2000, he has already become a real option for Japan's attack, and I suspect his ceiling is higher than people assume. I like footballers who break their own limits, and he clearly does.
